Closing your Conekta account is a permanent process requested through Support. Before you start, it's best to bring the account "down to zero": no pending balance, no open transactions, and your information downloaded. This guide summarizes the requirements and the process.
Who this applies to
Accounts that will stop operating with Conekta. The request must be made by a person with an admin role from an email address registered on the account.
Prerequisites
- Zero balance: wait until your last available balance is paid out to your bank account.
- No open transactions: resolve any refunds in progress and active chargebacks; an open dispute pauses the closure until it's resolved.
- Charges stopped: deactivate your payment links, subscriptions, and integrations so you don't receive new payments during the process.
- Information downloaded: export your payment reports and download your invoices; after closure, you'll no longer have access to the Conekta Panel.
How to request closure
Contact Support stating that you want to close the account and why. The team will verify your identity, confirm that the requirements are met, and tell you the effective closure date. You'll receive an email confirmation once it's complete.
What happens to your information
Due to regulatory obligations, Conekta retains certain account and transaction information for the periods required by law, even after closure. That information isn't used for commercial purposes and is only accessed for legal, tax, or fraud prevention requirements.
Can I reactivate my account after closing it?
Closure is permanent. If you want to operate with Conekta again later, you'll need to create a new account and go through verification again.
What happens if a customer pays while the closure is in progress?
That's why it's best to deactivate your payment methods beforehand. If a payment still comes in, it's processed normally and the closure is completed once that money is paid out.
Can I receive a chargeback after closure?
Banks can dispute charges for several months. If that happens, Conekta will contact you using your registered details to handle it.
Request your account closure
The Support team confirms the requirements and closes your account securely.
