A under review is being evaluated by the fraud prevention system before it's confirmed or declined. The review protects both your business and the buyer: a brief pause is better than a chargeback later.
Why a payment goes under review
- The transaction shows unusual signals: an atypical amount, behavior that differs from the history, or details that don't match each other.
- It's an inherently risky purchase: a new customer's first purchase with a high amount, for example.
- Your account's anti-fraud rules flagged the transaction for a more detailed evaluation.
What you can do
- Wait for the resolution: most reviews are resolved within minutes or hours, and the status changes on its own.
- Don't deliver yet: treat the transaction as unconfirmed until it moves to Paid.
- View the details: the transaction's detail page in the Panel reflects the result as soon as the review finishes.
Possible next status
The review ends in Paid (the transaction was confirmed and you can deliver) or in Declined (the transaction was declined and no charge was made). To understand the criteria behind these evaluations, see How Conekta's fraud prevention works.
