As your sales volume grows, knowing which payment belongs to which order stops being obvious. Each transaction's detail page in the Conekta Panel includes several clues that let you connect it to your sale, whether you collect payments with links, Checkout, or a plugin.

Where to look for the connection

  • Reference or description: if you entered a clear description when charging (for example, the order number), it appears in the payment details. It's the most direct method.
  • Buyer's email: the email used to make the payment usually matches the one in your sales record. Search for it in the transactions list to see all of that person's transactions.
  • Order ID: Checkout, plugin, or API integrations record your store's order identifier along with the payment. E-commerce plugins do this automatically.
  • Metadata: if your integration sends additional fields (SKU, branch, salesperson), they're stored with the transaction and appear in its details.
  • Amount and date: as a last resort, match the exact amount with the date and time of the sale. It works, but fails with repeated amounts — use it only to confirm.

Recommendation for the future

The best reconciliation is the one you prepare when charging: always include the order number in the charge description or in your integration's metadata. One minute during setup saves you manual searches every week.
