Every operation that goes through Conekta receives a unique identifier: a string of letters and numbers that sets it apart from any other. It's that operation's "proper name" — two payments from the same customer, for the same amount and on the same day, have different IDs.

The identifiers you'll see

  • Order ID: identifies the entire purchase: what was sold, to whom, and for how much. It's the one you usually link to your own order number.
  • Payment or charge ID: identifies the charge attempt within an order. An order can have several: for example, a declined card followed by a successful payment.
  • Event ID: identifies each notification Conekta generates (a webhook sent, a status change). Developers use it to debug integrations.

Why they matter

Amounts and dates repeat; IDs don't. When you search for an operation by its ID in the Conekta Panel, you land exactly on it, with its full history: status, payment method, refunds, and associated transactions. And when you open a case with Support, the ID lets the team see the exact operation without any back-and-forth.

Where to find them

Open the details of any operation in the Conekta Panel: the ID appears at the top and you can copy it with one click. It's also included in notification emails and exported reports.
