With Conekta, you can start collecting payments through three different paths: without writing code, by installing a plugin in your online store, or by building a custom integration. All three process the same payment methods; the difference is how much control you need and what team you have.
The three paths
- No code (Payment Links): you create a link from the Conekta Panel and share it via WhatsApp, email, or social media. You don't need a website or a developer. It is the fastest way to receive your first payment.
- With a plugin: if your store runs on an e-commerce platform with a Conekta plugin, you install and configure it in little time. The plugin adds the payment methods to your existing checkout without custom development.
- Custom integration (Checkout or API): your development team connects Conekta directly to your website or app. It is the path with the most control over the payment experience and requires technical work.
How to decide
- If you don't have a website yet, or you sell through social media, start with Payment Links.
- If you already sell on an e-commerce platform, first check whether there is a plugin for it.
- If you have a development team and want your own experience, go with Checkout or the API.
- If you expect high volume or complex flows (subscriptions, marketplaces), it is best to plan the integration with your developer from the start.
