The test environment lets you simulate complete payments without moving real money: you create a charge, "pay" it with test data, and see the transaction in the Conekta Panel exactly as a real payment would look. It's the safe way to get to know the flow before charging a customer.

Before you start

  • You need access to the Conekta Panel; your account doesn't need to be approved to test.
  • Be clear on which charging method you'll test: a payment link, your Checkout, or your integration.

Steps

  1. Turn on test mode in the Conekta Panel

    In the Conekta Panel, switch to the test environment. Everything you do there stays separate from your live operations: test charges never generate real charges or payouts.

  2. Create a test charge

    Create a payment link or start a charge with your chosen charging method, for any amount. The flow is identical to production.

  3. Simulate the payment with test data

    Complete the payment using the official test data. Test cards and the technical credentials for the test environment are documented in the Developer Center; there you'll find numbers to simulate both approved and declined payments.

  4. Check the transaction in the Conekta Panel

    Go back to the Conekta Panel (in test mode) and confirm that the transaction appears with the expected status, the correct amount, and the payment method you used.

Expected result

A test transaction visible in the Conekta Panel, with its status and details, and no real money moved. If the whole flow worked, you're ready for the next step.
