Going to production means your charges are no longer simulations: your customers' money is actually processed, fees apply, and payments feed into your payouts. The switch is simple, but it's best to do it with all validations complete.
What changes in production
- Payments move real money and generate fees.
- The technical credentials are different: test environment keys don't work in production, and vice versa.
- Fraud prevention evaluates every real operation; some payments may be placed under review.
- Successful charges accumulate in your balance and are included in your payouts.
Before you start
- Your account must be approved; without approval, the production environment isn't enabled.
- Your bank account must be registered and validated to receive payouts.
- Complete at least one end-to-end test charge in the test environment.
Steps
Confirm that your account is active
In the Conekta Panel, check that your account shows as approved and that the payment methods you need are enabled.
Switch to the production environment
Exit test mode in the Conekta Panel. If you have an integration, your developer must replace the test credentials with the production ones; the technical details are in the Developer Center.
Make a first controlled live charge
Before opening up to all your customers, process a small real payment (your own or from someone on your team) and confirm that it appears in the Conekta Panel with a Paid status.
Review your payout settings
Confirm in the Conekta Panel which bank account your money will go to and how often, so you know when to expect your first deposit.
Next step
Once your first real payment is processed, continue with What to check after receiving my first payment.
