Conekta fees are calculated and deducted per transaction: each successful payment generates its own fee plus VAT (IVA), and what's credited to your balance is the net amount. You don't receive a separate monthly charge for processing; the deduction happens before the money reaches your bank.
The money's journey
- 1. The customer pays: the transaction is recorded with its gross amount (what the customer paid).
- 2. The fee is calculated: using your account's rate for that payment method, plus the applicable VAT.
- 3. The net amount is credited to your balance: gross amount minus fee and VAT. That net amount is what enters the payout cycle.
- 4. It's paid out to your bank: the payout groups the net amounts of the period's transactions; that's why the deposit doesn't match the sum of your gross sales.
How it looks in your reports
In each payment's details and in the exportable reports, you'll find separate columns for gross amount, fee, VAT on the fee, and net amount. Each payout's details show the same breakdown in aggregate, so you can match the deposit against the transactions it's made up of.
What you should do
- Reconcile using the net amount, not the gross amount, when comparing against your bank statement.
- Use the fee columns in the reports to validate your contracted rate.
- Check the payout details when a deposit doesn't add up before opening a ticket.
