Every charge you process with Conekta generates a fee for the processing service. Understanding what that fee depends on helps you calculate your margins, choose payment methods, and reconcile your numbers without surprises.
What the fee depends on
- Payment method: cards, SPEI bank transfers, cash, wallets, and financing have different schemes. Some combine a percentage of the amount with a fixed fee per transaction.
- Product or solution: the way you charge (online payments, Payment Links, collections, in-person payments) may affect the applicable rate.
- Commercial agreement: your specific rate is defined in your account's contract and may vary by industry and transaction volume. Two businesses can have different rates for the same method.
- Taxes: fees are subject to VAT, which is added when calculating the deduction for each transaction.
What it looks like in practice
When a customer pays you, Conekta calculates the fee for that transaction using your contracted rate, adds the corresponding VAT, and deducts both from the amount charged. What you receive in your payouts is the net amount: the gross amount of your sales minus fees and taxes.
What you should do
- Review your rate by payment method before enabling new methods.
- Factor in fees and VAT when setting your sale prices.
- Reconcile your reports against the fee breakdown to catch discrepancies early.
