The invoice Conekta issues to your account groups what you were charged during a period. Knowing how to read its line items lets you check it against your reports and record it correctly in your accounting.
The billing period
Each invoice covers a defined period, usually a calendar month. The transactions it includes are those that occurred within that period, even if the invoice is issued a few days after the close. Keep this in mind when reconciling: an end-of-month transaction may appear on the next period's invoice depending on its processing date.
The main line items
- Processing fees: the total fees for your transactions in the period, grouped by payment method or service type.
- Service charges: when applicable, charges other than processing: dispute management or other services contracted on your account.
- Period adjustments: fee returns for refunds or other corrections, when your agreement's policy provides for them.
- VAT (IVA): the tax on the items above, broken down as required by the CFDI.
How to check it
The invoice subtotal should match the total fees in your reports for the same period, and the VAT should match the tax on those fees. If you spot discrepancies, check the period's cutoff dates first before assuming there's an error.
