The Conekta Panel and webhooks answer the same question — "what happened with my payments?" — but in different ways. The Panel is for you to check; webhooks are so your systems find out on their own. If your operation depends on reacting to every payment, the difference is huge.

Checking vs. being notified

  • With the Panel: the information is updated when someone on your team logs in to check. Between checks, paid orders sit waiting.
  • With webhooks: your system receives the notification seconds after the event and acts immediately: it releases the order, activates the subscription, sends the confirmation.

Where the difference shows

  • Payments that are confirmed with a delay (SPEI, cash): the order is released as soon as the money arrives, even in the middle of the night.
  • Volume: checking the Panel order by order doesn't scale once you go beyond a few sales a day.
  • Inventory and logistics: your internal systems stay in sync without manual data entry.
  • Refunds and chargebacks: you find out right away and can react within the deadlines.

When the Panel is enough

If you charge with Payment Links, your volume is low, and you confirm deliveries manually, the Panel works well. Webhooks become necessary when there's a system — an online store, ERP, point of sale — that needs to react without human intervention.
