Opening a Conekta account is free and takes a few minutes, but onboarding will ask you for information from several areas of your business. Gathering it before you start saves you interruptions and speeds up the review. Here's a summary of what's usually requested.

Who this applies to

Any business that wants to collect payments with Conekta in Mexico, whether as an individual with business activity (persona física con actividad empresarial) or as a legal entity (persona moral).

What to have on hand

  • Business information: business name, line of business or activity, the website or social media where you sell, and a description of what you offer.
  • Legal information: your entity type (individual or legal entity); if you're a legal entity, the details of your articles of incorporation and your legal representative.
  • Tax information: RFC and a recent tax status certificate (constancia de situación fiscal); the tax regime must match your activity.
  • Banking information: the CLABE of the account where you want to receive your money, in the name of the same holder or legal business name you register.
  • Contact details: an email you have access to (that's where the confirmation arrives) and a phone number for the administrator.

Exceptions

Some regulated or higher-risk lines of business may require additional information during the review; if this applies to your business, Conekta will let you know during the process.
