Before charging real customers, test the entire Checkout in the test environment: there you can simulate successful and failed payments without moving real money. Fifteen minutes of testing prevents most launch problems.
Before you start
- Confirm that your integration uses the test environment keys, not the production ones.
- Have the test data (simulated cards) provided in the technical documentation at hand.
Steps
Open your Checkout as a customer
Go through the flow from the beginning: visit your site, add a product, and reach the payment screen. Check that your logo, colors, and business name display correctly.
Simulate a successful payment
Pay with the test data for an approved operation. Confirm that the customer sees the success screen and that the operation appears in the test environment Panel.
Simulate a declined payment
Repeat with the test data for a declined operation. The customer should see a clear message and be able to retry without losing their order.
Test each enabled payment method
If you offer bank transfer or cash, generate their test references and confirm that the customer receives the correct instructions.
Test from a phone
Most customers will pay from their phone. Repeat the entire flow on a real mobile device.
Criteria for a successful test
- Each payment method completes its flow and the operation appears in the Panel.
- Declined payments show clear messages and allow retrying.
- Your site receives confirmation of the result and updates the order.
- The experience looks right on desktop and mobile.
