Sometimes a charge changes after you create the link: the amount was different, the order was canceled, or the link has already served its purpose. Here you will see what you can change directly and when it is better to deactivate it and create a new one.

What changes are allowed

  • Before receiving payments: you can adjust details such as the description or the expiration from the link details.
  • After receiving a payment: the core details of the charge can no longer be changed — payments received keep the terms under which they were made.
  • The amount: if the amount is wrong, we recommend deactivating the link and creating a new one with the correct figure.

En Panel Conekta: Payments → Payment Links

  1. Find the link

In the Payment Links list, identify it by its description or creation date.

  2. Deactivate it from the details

Use the deactivate option. The change is immediate: anyone who opens the URL will no longer be able to pay.

  3. Create the replacement if needed

If the charge is still valid with different terms, create a new link and share it, letting your customer know the previous one no longer works.

The shared URL doesn't disappear from conversations, but once the link is deactivated it stops accepting payments: anyone who opens it will see that the charge is no longer available. Payments received before deactivation are not affected and remain visible in the Conekta Panel.
