A transaction changing status after it's created is a normal part of a payment's lifecycle. Several methods are asynchronous: the initial attempt leaves the transaction in a provisional state, and the confirmation — or the decline — comes later, when the bank, the store, or the provider processes the transaction.

Changes that are normal

  • Pending → Paid: the buyer completed a bank transfer, paid their cash reference, or the installment provider approved the financing.
  • Pending → Expired: the reference or link expired without the buyer paying; no money moved.
  • Under review → Paid or Declined: the anti-fraud validation finished and either released or declined the transaction.
  • Paid → Refunded: your business returned the charge, in full or in part.

Changes worth reviewing

  • Paid → Chargeback: the buyer disputed the charge with their bank; review the case and decide whether to respond with evidence.
  • Prolonged Pending that ends in Declined: the method couldn't confirm the payment; check with the buyer whether they'll try again.

How to view a transaction's history

En Panel Conekta: Payments → Transactions

Open the transaction's details: each transition appears there with its date and time, along with the associated items — refunds, chargebacks, or the payout it was included in. That history is the source for answering any question from the buyer.
