A payment that has already been confirmed can't be edited: the amount the buyer authorized is final. The fix depends on whether you overcharged, undercharged, or the payment hasn't been made yet. Here is each case.

If the payment hasn't been completed yet

This is the only moment when you can make a correction: cancel or deactivate the charge with the wrong amount — the payment link, the reference, or the pending order — and generate a new one with the correct amount before sharing it with the buyer.

If you overcharged

Issue a partial refund for the difference: the buyer gets back the excess and you keep the correct charge in the same transaction. If the error is large or the buyer prefers it, you can also refund the full amount and generate a new charge for the correct amount.

If you undercharged

You can't increase a confirmed payment. Generate an additional charge for the difference and explain the reason to the buyer before sending it — a second charge without context often leads to complaints or chargebacks.

How to avoid it in future charges

  • Check the amount and currency before sharing a link or reference — it's the most common mistake.
  • Use fixed amounts instead of manual entry when the price doesn't change.
  • Deactivate links with old amounts right away so no one pays an outdated price.
  • Include the order reference in every charge: it makes it easier to spot differences when reconciling.
