A partial refund returns only part of the amount paid to the buyer — for example, the value of a returned item within a larger order. It's done from the payment details in the Conekta Panel and takes less than a minute.

Before you start

  • Make sure the payment has the status Paid and is within the refund window.
  • Confirm that your available balance covers the amount to refund.
  • Be clear on the exact amount: once processed, the refund can't be reversed.

En Panel Conekta: Payments → Payment details → Refund

Steps

  1. Open the payment details

Find the transaction in the Payments section of the Conekta Panel and open it. There you'll see the original amount and, if there were previous refunds, the remaining balance.

  2. Choose the refund option

Select refund and, instead of accepting the full amount, enter the amount you want to refund. The Conekta Panel validates that it doesn't exceed the payment's remaining balance.

  3. Confirm the transaction

Review the summary — amount, payment method, and destination — and confirm. The refund is created immediately and starts processing.

  4. Check the record

The payment details will show the refund with its own identifier and status, along with the transaction's new remaining balance.

Expected result

The refunded amount is deducted from your available balance and the payment keeps the remaining balance. You can issue more partial refunds against that balance; when the total reaches the original amount, the payment's status becomes Refunded.
