Checkout can be presented to your buyers in different ways. The choice doesn't change the available payment methods or the fees: it changes where the payment happens and how much integration work it takes. Here are the three options in plain language.
The three experiences
- Embedded: the payment form appears inside your own page, as just another section. The buyer never leaves your site. It takes a bit more integration, but the experience feels entirely yours.
- Redirect: when paying, the buyer goes to a payment page hosted by Conekta and returns to your site when they're done. It's the fastest to implement, and Conekta maintains the entire payment screen.
- Custom: your team builds the screens using Conekta's components and API. Full control over every detail, in exchange for more development.
How to decide
Assess your priority
If the urgent thing is to start charging, the redirect experience gets you up and running sooner. If your brand requires the payment to feel like part of the site, go for embedded.
Assess your technical team
Redirect requires the minimum; embedded, a moderate integration; custom, a dedicated development team.
Validate with a test
Set up your chosen option in the test environment and go through the flow as a buyer before committing.
