Apple Pay and Google Pay let your customers pay with the cards saved on their phone, confirming with their fingerprint or face instead of typing in their details. Less friction at checkout usually translates into more completed sales.

Before you start

  • Your account must be active and have card payments enabled: wallets process payments using the buyer's cards.
  • You need to charge online with Checkout, a plugin, or an API integration.
  • Apple Pay works on Apple devices with Safari; Google Pay works on Android and in Chrome.

Steps

  1. Check that your charging method supports them

Conekta Checkout can display wallets automatically when the buyer's device supports them. For plugins and custom integrations, check your platform's guide in the Developer Center.

  2. Enable wallets in your settings

Turn on Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment methods for your account. Custom integrations may require an additional technical step, such as verifying your domain.

  3. Make a test purchase from a compatible device

Test from an iPhone with Safari and from an Android device with Chrome. The wallet button only appears when the device and browser support it and a card is registered.

What the buyer sees

At checkout, the wallet button appears alongside the other payment methods. When they tap it, the buyer confirms with Face ID, their fingerprint, or by unlocking their phone, without entering a card number or address. For you, the payment arrives in the Conekta Panel like any other card payment.
