With Conekta, you can charge the main card brands used in Mexico. This guide summarizes what your account accepts and what limitations may apply depending on the card type or your line of business.

Brands and types

  • Brands: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, whether issued in Mexico or abroad.
  • Credit and debit: both are accepted by default; participating credit cards also enable interest-free installments (MSI) if you turn them on.
  • Digital cards and wallets: cards saved in Apple Pay or Google Pay are processed as card payments, with the same confirmation in your Conekta Panel.

Limitations worth knowing

  • Some debit cards have e-commerce restricted by the bank's settings; the buyer can enable it from their banking app.
  • Prepaid or virtual cards work if the issuing bank allows online purchases, but they usually have lower amount limits.
  • Foreign cards may require additional security checks, and some banks decline them for purchases in another country.
  • Certain lines of business may have brand-specific restrictions; if this applies to your account, it will appear in your commercial terms.

Where to check your settings

In the Conekta Panel, you can review which payment methods are active on your account and request activation of additional options, such as interest-free installments or wallets.
