Turning on two-step verification takes a few minutes and protects your user even if your password is leaked. You set it up only once from the Conekta Panel; after that, every sign-in will ask for a one-time code.

Before you start

  • Have your phone handy if you will use an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or similar).
  • Make sure you can access the email registered to your user: it is the alternate validation method.

Steps

En Panel Conekta: Settings → Security → Two-step verification

  1. Open the security settings

Sign in to the Conekta Panel and go to the security section of your profile. There you will find the option to turn on two-step verification.

  2. Choose your verification method

The recommended option is an authenticator app: scan the QR code shown in the Conekta Panel with the app on your phone and it will be linked to your user.

  3. Complete the first validation

Enter the code generated by your verification method to confirm it was set up correctly. With that, the protection is active.

  4. Save your backup options

If the Conekta Panel offers you backup codes, store them in a safe place away from your phone. They are your way back in if you lose the device.

Expected result

Starting with your next sign-in, the Conekta Panel will ask for your password and a code from your verification method. Your current session is not interrupted.
