Installing the Conekta plugin connects your store to your account so you can start accepting payments. The general flow is the same on every platform: install the module, enter your credentials, and test before you sell.
Before you start
- Your Conekta account must be approved for live charges.
- You need administrator access to your store and to the Conekta Panel.
- Make sure you have your API keys; they're the credentials the plugin uses to connect to your account.
Steps
Download the plugin for your platform
Look for it in your platform's marketplace or module store, or from the corresponding guide in the Developer Center. Always use the official Conekta plugin.
Install and activate it in your store
Follow your platform's installer. Once activated, a Conekta settings section will appear under the store's payment methods.
Enter your API keys
Copy the keys from the Conekta Panel and paste them into the plugin settings. Start with the test environment keys.
Choose the payment methods to display
Enable card, bank transfer, or cash depending on what you want to offer in your checkout.
Make a test charge and go live
Complete a test purchase from start to finish. When everything works, replace the test keys with the production keys.
When to get technical help
If your store has deep customizations, a custom theme, or several payment plugins running side by side, it's worth having someone with a technical background assist with the installation. Share the guide from the Developer Center and your test credentials with them — never your production private keys over insecure channels.
