When you connect your Conekta account to a platform, the platform doesn't get full access: it requests specific permissions that you review and authorize. Understanding what each type of permission involves lets you decide with confidence.

Types of permissions

  • View information: read your transactions — payments, refunds, statuses — to display them within the platform. It doesn't allow moving money or changing settings.
  • Create charges: generate charges, payment links, or orders on your behalf. It's the core permission of any payment integration.
  • Manage transactions: follow-up actions on the charges the platform created, such as canceling them or requesting refunds, when the service requires it.

What a platform can't do

  • Change your bank account or the destination of your payouts.
  • Modify your legal or tax information.
  • Manage your account's users or expand its own permissions: any additional access requires a new authorization from you.

How to stay in control

  • Read the full authorization screen before accepting: it contains the exact list of permissions.
  • Only authorize platforms you know and have a service relationship with.
  • Periodically review your active connections in the Conekta Panel and revoke the ones you no longer use.
