A connected account is a Conekta account that has authorized a platform — a marketplace, a SaaS, a point-of-sale system — to operate on its behalf. The business still owns its account; the platform gets the permissions it needs to integrate charges into its product.

Why it matters

Without connected accounts, each business within a platform would have to integrate Conekta on its own. With them, the platform integrates once and each business keeps its identity: its own verification, its own balance, and its own payouts to its bank.

How the relationship works

  • The business: is the account holder, completes its verification, and receives its money directly from Conekta.
  • The platform: creates charges and views transactions on behalf of the business, according to the permissions the business authorized.
  • Conekta: processes payments, applies each account's validations, and maintains permission control between both parties.

Example

A restaurant reservation system connects its customers' Conekta accounts. Each restaurant collects deposits from the reservations app, but the money is paid out to each restaurant's bank account, and each one sees its payments in its own Conekta Panel.
